MILFORD – Once again the Broatch family, of Milford, Conn., is celebrating the memory of their son and brother Britton and their shared family love of the sport of Wiffle® Ball with the Milford community and beyond. For the fourth year in a row, they are holding a Wiffle® Ball tournament in the memory of their son and brother Britton.

The idea came to Jim Broatch during a family vacation following the death of his son Britton from a massive stroke at the age of 25.

“When I saw the way the family enjoyed playing Wiffle ball, I thought, ‘This is something we’ve enjoyed doing together all our lives. It only makes sense to remember him but on a grander scale,’” Jim Broatch said.

Proceeds of the Wiffle® Ball tournament benefit “Britton John Broatch Memorial Foundation, Inc,” which funds scholarships at Foran High School and other charitable causes.

Britton John Broatch was the second of four sons of Cydney and Jim Broatch.
On July 1, 2003, while visiting his brother Gavin in San Diego, Britton died of a massive stroke. Wiffle® ball was always a Broatch family passion and to honor Britton’s memory, our family decided to host an annual Wiffle® tournament to raise money for an annual scholarship at his high school and for other charitable needs.
